Our Approach

Our approach to political risk analysis, corporate intelligence and due diligence work differs from conventional providers of such services in a number of ways:

Continual monitoring

We continually monitor commercial and political activity across Africa and the Middle East. So when a client commissions us to make inquiries about an individual, organisation or group, we are already aware of the commercial and political contexts and dynamics in play.

Primary sources

We consult primary sources in the location where our inquiries are centred. Usually our sources are people who live and work in the country. This means our clients benefit not only from up to date, on the ground information but also from cultural and contextual insights that only local sources can provide.

Source co-ordinators

In key markets we retain research co-ordinators who go out and talk to a number of different sources. In other territories we have several direct contacts. The results are that clients benefit from a range of local views, not just a single perspective.

Frequent visits

In addition to an extensive network of sources, our staff members routinely visit key locations throughout Africa and the Middle East. This means that when we deliver a report, someone familiar with the territory in question has overseen it.

Multidisciplinary team

Our research team brings capabilities and experience from several fields – from business, management and international trade to political analysis and investigative journalism – ensuring that our reports benefit from different perspectives.
