African Energy Atlas

Launched in 2007, The African Energy Atlas has established itself as the leading annual illustrative guide to the continent’s energy industries and an indispensable resource for industry professionals operating in or looking to invest in Africa.

The 2011 edition features more than 45 maps and charts drawn with expert care by journalist cartographer David Burles.

The Energy Future series

CbI’s Energy Future series is a country-focused report and briefing series that provides authoritative, independently sourced analysis of energy sector policy and history, examines governance and financial issues and assesses the potential for international partners to do business with local institutions and interest groups.

The series was started in 2009, with the publication of Libya’s Energy Future, an updated and expanded version of which was launched in July 2010 at a sold-out roundtable seminar hosted by Chatham House, London’s pre-eminent foreign affairs think tank

AfricaHardball

Started in 2006, AfricaHardball is an annual executive dialogue series that brings together policy-makers, industry leaders and analysts to discuss the key political issues affecting the African markety in frank and open terms.

Held behind closed doors in a roundtable format, AfricaHardball is played out under the Chatham House Rule, whereby participants can openly discuss critical issues but must not be quoted by name. The next AfricaHardball roundtable will focus on West Africa and will be held on 15 September in London.

Politics, Succession and Risk in Saudi Arabia

A GSN special report, Politics, succession and risk in Saudi Arabia was launched to great acclaim in January 2010 at a seminar hosted and co-organised by Chatham House’s Middle East and North Africa Programme.

The report has been recognised by discussants – including governmental political risk analysts and senior figures from the banking, insurance and risk sectors – as a significant piece of research and analysis, which “raised the bar” for those researching the Kingdom.
