Co-produced by CbI's African Energy and held under the Chatham House Rule, proceedings were structured around vibrant panel-led discussions with the participating audience. The meeting was sponsored by Actis, AfIDA, DEG, Denham Capital, DLA Piper, ENGIE Africa, FMO, InfraCo Africa, Joule Africa, Lekela and Themis Energy and supported by GOGLA and Power Africa.
It featured two main conference streams, additional break-out sessions and an evening reception alongside:
• AfricaHardball– a roundtable focused on political risks and governance issues that impact on projects and investment decisions.
The meeting also hosted the launch of the first African Energy Data Book. Supported by Power Africa, the African Energy Data Book has been designed for industry professionals with 128 pages of comprehensive statistics on the energy mix in each of the continent’s countries and regions. The book was launched at the AIX: Power & Renewables evening reception, with keynotes delivered by CbI Chairman Jon Marks and Power Africa Co-ordinator Andrew Herscowitz.
