Qatar: Further questions about US attitude to Al-Udeid air base

On 28 September, US Central Command briefly moved the command and control of its air operations from their normal location at Al-Udeid in Qatar to Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. The Combined Air and Space Operations Centre (CAOC) at Al-Udeid normally coordinates US and allied operations over the whole of the Middle East and some neighbouring territories, including Syria, Afghanistan and areas bordering Iran, controlling on average 300 operational missions a day.
