Past work: European energy-related financial flows to Africa

African Infrastructure Investment Survey

For the Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) we are producing two comprehensive reports on European energy-related financial flows to Africa with the objective of overcoming existing information gaps that constrain international efforts to meet the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) target of ensuring universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy services for all by 2030.

The project involves the:

  • collection and analysis of disaggregated data within a dedicated, stand-alone, publishable methodology on European SDG7-related financing as well financing data from other global players, African governments and public and private sector investors;
  • production of a narrative report containing analysis of the fully collated data, key insights, politically relevant messages, results and recommendations, and spotlight topics;
  • production of an online, interactive, cartographic report providing a high level of accessibility to the data and insights, and
  • production of fact sheets containing the key messages and findings and an easy to navigate, open and appropriately branded Excel file containing all data, graphics and visualisations for use by the client and its partners.
