New transmission and distribution venture Gridworks on 16 July announced the appointment of former Aldwych International managing director Helen Tarnoy as chair of its board of directors. Capitalised by the UK’s CDC, Gridworks was launched in June 2019 with the aim of investing over $300m of long-term capital to improve the transmission, distribution and off-grid electricity infrastructure that delivers reliable and sustainable power across Africa.
