Iran: Military delegation to China

Iranian Armed Forces chief of staff Major General Mohammad Baqeri led a military delegation to China on 11 September, following an invitation from the Central Military Commission’s chief of the joint staff Li Zuocheng. Baqeri held talks with Li and Central Military Commission vice-chairman Xu Qiliang, with both sides apparently keen to stress their interest in expanding military co-operation. Baqeri went on to visit Shanghai Naval Base and attend a joint military commission. A Chinese military delegation is also due to visit Iran in the near future.
