Saudi Arabia: Abdelaziz Bin Fahd loses cabinet post

Prince Abdelaziz Bin Fahd has been relieved of his positions as minister of state and cabinet member “at his request”, according to a 25 April royal order. The prince – son of the late king Fahd – was removed from his post as head of the cabinet affairs court in July 2011 (also apparently “at his request”), when King Abdullah Bin Abdelaziz merged the court for cabinet affairs and his own royal court. He had held that position since 2000. The royal order also appointed Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, who is an adviser to Crown Prince Salman and president of the crown prince’s court, as minister of state and cabinet member in addition to his existing responsibilities.
